                                 WHO WE ARE

Dicky Trotter established Trotter Promotions after the sale of the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, an event he created and co-founded in 1982. Southeastern Wildlife Exposition was a three day event held in Charleston, South Carolina.

Under Dicky’s direction, Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (1983 – 1988) became Charleston's most financially successful tourist related event. The Expo created a estimated 60 million dollar economic impact for the greater Charleston area in February, a then down time for tourism. It has been documented that S.E.W.E. brings in three times the revinue for Charleston than the more well known Spoleto Festival. By 1987 the Expo was attracting 40,000 attendees 65% where from outside the Charleston area and selling 2 million in wildlife art sales. The Charleston’s Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Association proclaimes it their best weekend of the year. It is now in its 26th year.

Trotter took his knowledge and experience from the Expo and founded Trotter Promotions, based on the same principles he used to make the Expo a huge success for the Charleston area. Since 1988 we have grown from consulting events to helping all types of businesses, non profits and organizations reach their potential. We now have representatives in Asheville, NC and Savannah, GA as well as Charleston, SC.
